Unwavering Trust: How Dimiour Built Reliability and Trust Through Highly Available Platforms?

Dimiour helped a premium and well-known global OEM enhance their brand reliability through active multi-region to manage their digital marketing workloads helping to improve performance, availability, and user experience, which led to higher engagement and conversions.

Background:

Our client trusted Dimiour to build and deploy an active multi-region architecture that is cloud-based and allows them to distribute their workloads across multiple regions, ensuring high availability and scalability. This architecture was designed to provide redundancy and failover capabilities, allowing the client to maintain uninterrupted operations in the event of a system failure or outage.

Challenges:

The client’s brand dot com and loyalty management applications are critical to their operations, but they’ve experienced several performance challenges that have impacted their customers’ experience and bottom line.

However, the client tried to migrate their workloads to the cloud using a lift and shift approach, but they found that this needed to be more scalable and caused performance issues. They experienced slow service response times and high server upkeep costs during off-peak hours. Also, the stateful applications suffered from persistence challenges of local cache, which caused data inconsistencies and slow service response times.

The slow service response times affected the client’s web page load and rendering time, which impacted their customers’ experience and engagement. Additionally, like rubbing salt to injury, the high server upkeep cost during off-peak hours was a significant concern for them.

Solutions:

Dimiour’s client had an extensive monolithic application that caused issues with scalability and availability. To solve this problem, Dimiour proposed a solution that involved redesigning the application workloads into stateless microservices. This would allow for greater scalability and availability, as individual microservices can be scaled independently to handle changes in demand.

To run these microservices, Dimiour created a serverless lambda-based runtime with pay-for-use pricing on AWS. This allowed the client to only pay for the resources they use and would also provide automatic scaling based on demand.

To ensure high availability and low latency, Dimiour suggested designing a highly available active-active multi-region infrastructure with latency and health-based routing at DNS. This allowed requests to be automatically routed to the closest, healthiest server, ensuring that users have the best possible experience.

To persist data, Dimiour recommended using either Global NoSQL AWS DynamoDB or MySQL Aurora Global DB. Both options were highly scalable and distributed across multiple regions for increased availability.

Finally, implementing synthetic monitoring and health-based rerouting automation routines allowed the client to proactively monitor the health of their infrastructure and automatically reroute traffic if an issue is detected. This ensured that the users had a consistent, reliable experience.

Overall, this solution helped our client solve their scalability and availability issues, while also reducing costs and increasing flexibility.

Benefits for the Client:

The top global automobile OEM client, who trusted Dimiour as their solution partner, showcased numerous benefits that the company enjoyed as a result of implementing a brand.com solution, which was designed to improve their online presence and ensure reliable and uninterrupted services for their customers. Here are some of the key benefits that the client experienced:

1. Zero planned deployment outages using blue-green deployments: Another benefit of the brand.com solution was that it allowed the client to perform planned deployment outages without impacting the user experience. The use of blue-green deployments ensured that new features and updates could be released without downtime, providing that customers always had access to the latest features and functionalities.

3. Reduced infrastructure costs: Implementing the brand.com solution also helped the automobile OEM client significantly reduce their infrastructure costs. By optimizing their infrastructure, the client could reduce their monthly expenses from hundreds of thousands of dollars to just thousands of dollars, leading to substantial cost savings.

4. Uninterrupted services during heavy traffic spikes: The brand.com solution also enabled the automobile OEM client to handle heavy traffic spikes without experiencing service interruptions.

This is a critical benefit, as the automotive industry is known for having high traffic spikes during campaigns, promotions, recall, and sales events. With uninterrupted services, the client could ensure that their customers could access their services quickly and easily, improving the overall user experience.

By implementing a reliable and scalable solution, Dimiour ensured that the client could handle the demands of the automotive industry and provide their customers with uninterrupted services.
